WRITING PRODUCTION

This is the most difficult skill to reach, as we have to remember all the linguistic features we have been learning. It takes several years and a lot of exercise to get familiar with this skill. But it doesn't mean we can't be able to write an accurate simple A2-level essay. Of course, we can!

First I remind you to see the link on the left bar of the blog's homepage 'How to write a letter' that gives you the structure of a letter writing and actually of an e-mail, even if this is more informal, too.

General writing prompts:
First, use properly the dictionary from English to Italian and viceversa.
e.g.

Remember to read all the explanations and find the APPROPRIATE collocation in the context!!

Avoid the AB use of that!

Use SIMPLE and SHORT sentences!!!

Remember 'English is an SVO language, so your sentences must start with a subject (WHO) and a verb (reflect on the right tense) followed by an object (WHAT), add WHERE, WHEN and WHY if necessary.

REVISION

Last, but not least: Read again your production and check if there are any mistakes

Groupwork instructions (4 people):

Using your mobile, make a video to show the TV news with a weather forecast.
Roles and responsabilities:
1 student will be the journalist: he/she must prepare the backgrounds (take some pictures from the Internet to project on the IWB; he/she will present the forecast, introduce his/her colleagues (open and close the service) and close the news greeting the audience.
1 student will be the weather meteorologist: he/she must prepare the forecast to show and present/describe;
2 students will be a city reporter (external service that describes a particular situation): they must choose their city and prepare a more detailed forecast of it.

Prepare the setting as it will be as real as possible.
When all the materials are ready, the group can rehearse and when they will be ready...
